E Ink Spectra 6 can be called the most expected E Ink technology of 2024. E Ink Spectra 6 features an enhanced color spectrum and an advanced color imaging algorithm to provide full color to improve marketing and advertising performance. It is aimed to provide a truly print-quality replacement for any paper sign, posters as well as POP displays, signage, and other in-store advertising.

E Ink Spectra™ 6: the eyecatcher of 2024
E Ink Spectra 6 is optimized for up to 200 pixels per inch (PPI), depending on panel size, a typical contrast ratio of 30:1, and an operating range of 0-50 degrees Celsius. E Ink Spectra 6 will be offered in a variety of display sizes, allowing customers to choose a suitable size for different application scenarios. E Ink Spectra 6 can also create a partial image flashing effect, E Ink Sparkle™, which enhances the effect of advertising messages through motion and helps advertisers achieve better results for their product promotions.
The Spectra 6 displays will come in three sizes firstly:
- 13.3” EL133UF1 with 1600x1200,
- 25.3” EL253EW1 with 3200x1800 and
- 31.5” EL315TW1 with 2560x1440.
The 13.3” and 31.5” displays will support QSPI interface, which saves integrators the use of an additional driving TCON board and allows driving the displays directly from the host. For the 31.5” a power board will be available, which already generates all required display supply voltages. The 25.3” will support a miniLVDS interface and will be provided with the corresponding driving board.
The rendering of the pictures for the EPDs in the contents preparation stage is still a challenge, so E Ink's rendering tool is mandatory. The E Ink rendering tool library will be available for download after signing an end-user license agreement.
According to E Ink the engineering samples of 13.3” and 31.5” will be ready in Q1/2024. BECK will exhibit the displays and their EVKs at the trade show Embedded World in April 2024. An engineering sample of 25.3” is expected later by Q2/2024.
E Ink’s Spectra 6 display modules are planned for mass production release in Q2/2024.
