A Photointerrupter is a device, containing light emitting elements and light receiving elements, that works by detecting light blockage, when a target object comes between both elements, acting as an optical switch. Transmissive type: A signal is generated by simply interrupting the light beam by an obstacle. Refrlective type: A light must be reflected by some sort of mirror.
